Donna Wilk's compositions are a result of turning her visions into reality
with the materials found in nature. The realism in her originals reflects nature's rich colours, varied delicate textures as well as characteristic lines and forms. Her materials come from different parts of plants which may include petals, leaves, stems, bark, roots, seeds, and grasses. She also makes use of banana peel, orange peel, and Cottonwood fluff.
Her large garden and the nearby forest on Vancouver
Island, Canada, provide a wealth
of materials. She uses her refined pressing and preservation methodology to create materials ready for her composition process. To learn about her preservation
