Preservation of Botanic Materials

Pressed botanic specimens have been found preserved in remarkable condition in different parts of the world. A 4000 year old delphenium was discovered in an Egyptian tomb with its blue colour still intact.

Applying advanced preservation techniques to botanic materials is the secret to retaining their original splendour. Techniques depend on the botanic materials and  include the use of presses with air drying  and microwaving. Vacuum sealing and the use of desiccants and oxygen absorbers are also included in the preservation methodology.

Patrons who enjoy Donna's art have the pleasure of owning them for many years thanks to the preservation technology that makes longevity possible for the originals. It is advised that fine art care guidelines are followed.
